HeyHey guys, I'm start teaching. I am on the women's swimming & diving team here at UC, and it's my second year on the team. I was married in the summer of 2006, and my husband and I have a house in Westwood. (That's him up there - his name is Luke.) I lived in West Chester from age 12 to 19 and went to Lakota East High School, so I had never spent much time in Cincinnati until I moved there. I still don't really know much about the area around where I live - I pretty much know how to get to campus and where to go to get food by my house. Before my family moved to West Chester, we lived out in West Des Moines, Iowa for about 6 years. (Yes, the same town where Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson currently lives.) Before that, I lived in a suburb of Chicago, and before that, I was born and lived in Rochester, NY. I think it's funny when I hear people call Ohio the Midwest, because I lived in Iowa, which is really Midwest. With Ohio being only two states away from NY, I really can't consider it much more than Slightly West.
Other things about me: I have a younger brother and sister. My brother, Stephen, swims for Cleveland State University and is one of their top swimmers. My sister, Rachel, also swims, and she's a sophomore at Lakota East. I'm really proud of both of them. I have three nephews and one niece through my older sister, Kelly. I don't see them much, but they're adorable, and I miss them. I also have a niece on Luke's side, and as the first grandchild, she gets spoiled by my in-laws. I want kids, but I think it'll be a few years at least. For now, I like having free time and quality time with my husband. I also like to write fiction, and I hope to one day become a published author. (Ridiculously famous and rich would be cool too, I guess, but that's not my main goal.) Also, I love Star Wars. I'm a nerd that way. Darth Vader is my favorite. So now you know everything about me. Or do you?

Generally speaking, I enjoy using technology, although sometimes it can be frustrating. In general, I find it makes my life easier, and it is a great way to engage learners and connect with others. I have high expectations for this course and for my students in my courses. I hope you will gain a lot out of this collaborative experience into the integrating technology in the classroom. I expect that each of you will have a lot of your own past experiences to bring to the table which will make all of our learning deeper.

B. I think I fulfill this standard because of my background and my up-bringing. Because of the diverse surroundings that have surrounded me every since I was in grade school I think I have a real understanding of the way that every child doesn't have the same opportunity to learn about technology and when I am a high school teacher I will make sure I teach all of my students what they need to know to use different technology for their educational benefit.

D. I fulfilled this standard when we had to plan out a real lesson plan with our group and then teach a forty-five minute class where we each had to control and teach for fifteen minutes ourselves. During part of my fifteen minutes I had to manage students that were using computers and the internet to learn about the country we had given them. I had to make sure they were using the right websites and not having any problems with their computers while i had to manage the rest of the students that were using books and atlas's to do their research.

For example I learned how using excel to make a teacher grade book can be much because of the formulas you can use that will find averages and other totals for you.

Hello,
My name is Connor Barwin. I am twenty-one years old and am the youngest of four boys. I grew up in Detroit and came to the University of Cincinnati in 2005 with no idea what I wanted to go to school for. It is now my fourth year at UC and I am a secondary education major. My focus is the social sciences and when the time comes I plan on either going back to Detroit or to Chicago where my parents and two of my three brothers live now. When I am not in school the majority of my spare time is devoted to playing football at UC. And my favorite website is New York Times, which I probably go to every time I am on a computer.
