Hi, everyone! Here's a picture of me and my family. I have a 2 1/2 year old son and a husband named Mike. Mike is a professor at NKU, Chase Law School. We have lived in Cincinnati for about 2 years. Prior to moving to Cincinnati, we lived in Lexington, Kentucky. This is where I did my post doc and where my son was born. We are originally from New York. Both my husband and I grew up on Long Island, but we spent the most recent years in New York City (Manhattan and Brooklyn). I went to NYU and my husband went to Columbia University, so we spent a lot of time in and around those schools. We miss New York (especially the pizza and bagels), but we are enjoying our new home in Cincinnati. We love the zoo, the aquarium, and the Children's museum. We are having so much fun exploring the city.
Generally speaking, I enjoy using technology, although sometimes it can be frustrating. In general, I find it makes my life easier, and it is a great way to engage learners and connect with others. I have high expectations for this course and for my students in my courses. I hope you will gain a lot out of this collaborative experience into the integrating technology in the classroom. I expect that each of you will have a lot of your own past experiences to bring to the table which will make all of our learning deeper.
Hope you enjoy the class,
Janet
P.S. I prefer to be called Janet, but if that makes you feel uncomfortable, then call me "Dr. Zydney"
