Title: Daily Oral Language
Contributor: Tahnee Keyes
Subject Matter: Language Arts/ Foreign Language
Grade Level: Grade 9
Description: The way that this activity works is that it is an activity that occurs throughout the week. The students are given a worksheet of sentences at the beginning of the week that must be corrected. Each day, different volunteers will come up to the SMARTboard and make corrections for the other students to see. The class writes down the correct sentence which is displayed or hidden on the screen.

This is a great use of technology because it involves both the teacher and the students. The students are involved with the technology in the classroom; they are active participants. Grammar is something that can be very boring to teach and to learn, and the use of the SMARTboard makes the activity more engaging. The students get the opportunity to be involved and demonstrate the grammar rules that they use in the corrections in their worksheets. The best thing about this activity is that it can apply to most other subjects pretty easily. This activity is also great because it does not have to be completely technologically dependent. If the SMARTboard failed, the activity would still be able to be done easily.

Computer Environment/ Resources: This activity requires a SMARTboard. Software is available on the internet through the company that sells the board. The software works for Windows,Mac, and Linux operating systems. There are other accessories that can be used with the SMARTboard including document cameras and a wireless slate.
